I'm Peerada Liew (or most commonly known as Mulan), School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA) 2019 graduate. I was compiling notes for my peer tutor mentees and wanted to share these with everyone incase it could be helpful :-)
Disclaimer : Note that all of these are from my personal experience learning from seniors, friends & especially my super amazing mentors. So, feel free to leave & take certain pointers that could be of use to you! This is by no means a hard and fast VA guide or suppose to replace the notes given, but just supplementary notes that could be beneficial!
Also note that certain content may differ if there are any changes in syllabus in the foreseeable future. At the end of the day, always consult your mentors coz they are the most knowledgeable!! (Ps. I didn't have time to edit the mobile version, so pls view it on your computer!)
I can't even begin to comprehend how tough this year was for you guys and y'all have missed out on way too many things. I really don’t know what any of you are going through, but this is for everybody who needs to hear it. I promise that, as cheesy as it sounds, things will definitely get better from here and we should always look at the positives of things despite everything. That's really all we can do, so, keep your heads up and keep on pushing forward! If you have any questions, worries or just anything, you can always leave me a message here or dm me on ig @murlanz.

I remember Year 5 being really confusing for me when discovering my theme for my body of works and the direction to go in. And If you are like me, you are not alone, I know SOOO many seniors who are like that too. (Some seniors got a 4/5 for Year 5 and ended up with a 7 in the end). We are all in the same boat, so don't worry. The boat will go through damn harsh waves one, but slowly right, but with time, you will begin to learn to navigate through them and pick up your sail.
Just know that you really have to trust the process and really push for the best every time you try out something. It may not work & you might have to scrap 3 works (which was what I did), but you definitely learnt something from it that helps you go further.
At the end of the day it's not about how you start, but how you finish (and always finish strong!!).
Trust me when I say you just got to CHIONGGGG damn hard and really push for the best. Time management is very important!! Set deadlines & milestones for yourself before the final submission.
After the submissions is done right, you'll be done with IB VA forever. You can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel so keep going forward!! YOU GOT THIS!!

Also pls really cherish every moment with your peers as this will most likely be the last few times spent with them, so be there and always support one another!!
Note that “while it is always best to believe in oneself, a little help from others can be a great blessing!”
