Describe what are the Elements utilised in the artworks

Then, use the Principles of Design as the elaboration of what is the Effect/Impact created from it

EXAMPLE :

LINES & PATTERN                          

TIP : MENTION THE AUDIENCE

  • What experience does it create for them?

  • Does it evoke/overwhelm them?

  • How does the audiences' eyes move and flow throughout the work?

Description :

Eg. The work uses repeated zig zag lines across the painting.

Effect created :

Eg. Thus, creating a sense of repetition and movement in the work, allowing the audience's eye to be constantly moving.

TIP : INCLUDE THUMBNAILS OF THE WORK

  • Help to break up the text and help elaborate your point.

  • You can use a zoomed in image of the work 

  • It focuses on the aspect you talking about in your point here.

C. SAMPLE

Note that these are samples from my submission, so feel free to or not reference it.

  • If you do, feel free to change it up in terms of formatting

  • Format it to your own colour schemes or styles etc.

  • And remember to always consult your mentors along the way!!

TIP : START WITH COMPOSITION

  • Allows the marker to have an overall idea & grasp what the work looks like

  • Be as specific as you can 

  • (As if describing to a blind person what it looks like)

TIP : CREATE UR OWN IMAGE

  • Sometimes it's hard to find images that fully illustrate your points

  • So why don't you illustrate your own?

  • It also allows you to not reuse the same images too many times
